Commission

WW2 Dogfight tattoo

Photoshop, 2011

Commission for a tattoo. I love helping people design tattoos.  He wanted a depiction of the WW1 Canadian memorial at Vimy Ridge, with the WW2 planes fighting in the skies above it.  Looks like the Allies are winning again!

two x-heroes

This was a commission of characters from the comicbook series X-Men: Sarah (Network) Vale and Forge. I think Forge was based off of his Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon persona, not the one from the comicbook.

Storyboard Concepts

My friend needed some storyboards for her film, and I love taking the opportunity to work with her.  The following are storyboards for a short script about two boys travelling through a post-apocalyptic world. She had already cast the boys by the time I started on these storyboards, so I was able to base my characters loosely off of the actors themselves. She also wanted to limit the amount of different types of shots for the sake of efficiency during filming. I have to confess that I really enjoy the challenge of working under specific constraints.

Drawn in Photoshop. Six pages.

Shadowed Summer

I was asked by the lovely and talented author Saundra Mitchell to illustrate a scene from her YA novel Shadowed Summer. She ended up using the illustration as promotional material for her book!  How cool is that?

Be sure to check out Saundra’s newest novel, as well as her other titles!

Murdoch Mysteries

This is based off a delightful Canadian television series about crime-solving in Victorian Toronto.  Here, the lead Detective Murdoch is taking the Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Ogden for a ride on the Victorian Era’s newest craze: the bicycle!

And for those of you who have your doubts – yes, there were indeed real women who made it high into the ranks of the medical field in Canada during the 1800’s.

This was a commission, painted in Photoshop.

Logo Design

Logo design for an Australian holistic healing business. The concept was the image of a person reaching, stretching, raising their arm in joy and/or triumph or, well, healing.

The client provided the general idea and I created some colourful suggestions based on her concept.
